The partnership between KORSCH, MEDELPHARM, and the Institute of Particle Technology (iPAT) at the Technical University of Braunschweig focuses on advancing tableting technologies and understanding powder behavior through collaborative research. iPAT specializes in particulate solids, combining academic research with practical industrial applications, making their partnership with KORSCH and MEDELPHARM mutually beneficial.

Key highlights of the collaboration include:

1. Knowledge Exchange: iPAT benefits from industry insights while providing scientific data on material behavior and tableting processes, enhancing machine configurations and addressing industrial challenges.

2. Joint Research Projects:

- STRAP Project: A Franco-German collaboration investigating scale transfer in pharmaceutical compression using compaction simulators and rotary presses. The study examines die filling, compaction, and reproducibility of tableting errors, correlating results for industrial applications.

- Die Filling in Rotary Presses: Researching material and machine parameters' effects on powder flow and filling consistency.

3. Equipment Use: iPAT integrates KORSCH and MEDELPHARM machines, including the STYL’One Evo and KORSCH XL 100, in their curriculum and research, providing practical exposure to students and supporting advanced studies.

The partnership leverages shared expertise to bridge scientific understanding and industrial application, improving tableting technologies and advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
