In this investigation, the ideal particle size of a PVA-based hot-melt extrudate is assessed for the development of tablet formulations, with MCC considered as a binder. Tablets containing a substantial quantity of PVA extrudate in conjunction with MCC exhibit sustained dissolution performance. Notably, the release kinetics can be readily altered from sustained to immediate release by incorporating salt and other appropriate excipients. Regardless of the formulation or extrudate content, all tablets demonstrated commendable tablet hardness and facilitated ease in the tableting process.
