On a roll compactor (RC), the space between the rolls is segmented into a slip, a compaction, and a release zone. The angle formed between the start and the end of the compaction zone is referred to as the nip angle, representing a crucial parameter for understanding the process. Determining the nip angle using existing methods can be labor-intensive and challenging. This study aimed to employ a uniaxial compaction simulator (Styl‘One Evolution, Medelpharm) to estimate the nip angle and assess how the specific compaction force, gap width, and roll speed influence the nip angle for various excipients.
