Roll compaction/dry granulation (RC/DG) stands out as a widely employed method in the pharmaceutical industry. However, challenges can arise in research and development due to the time and material-intensive nature of the process. Previous experiments have demonstrated that hybrid modeling of RC using the Styl’One Evolution can pinpoint the settings required to achieve ribbons with the desired solid fractions (SF). While SF is crucial, the granule size distribution (GSD) is equally important as it significantly impacts the quality of the final tablets. This study aims to investigate whether the milling of ribbon-like compacts, referred to as ribblets (utilizing the Styl’One), and real ribbons (using the Mini-Pactor) yields comparable GSD.
