The pivotal quality attribute in roll compaction/dry granulation lies in ribbon porosity, given its predominant role in shaping granule porosity and granule size distribution. However, this porosity is not uniformly distributed across the ribbon. This study delves into the investigation of porosity distribution through X-ray micro-computed tomography, revealing distinct distribution patterns across all three spatial directions: the ribbon length, width, and thickness. The specifics of these distribution patterns are contingent on the sealing system in use.
