A formula depicting the tensile strength of tablets in relation to compaction pressure was developed based on the equations proposed by Ryshkewitch and Kuentz-Leuenberger. This equation was employed to model data from 11 powders, encompassing both single-component powders and mixtures, exhibiting a diverse spectrum of mechanical properties. From the tensile strength-compaction pressure data, three parameters were directly derived through fitting, with one parameter characterizing the apparent bonding strength and another demonstrating a significant correlation with plasticity.
